In most urban contexts, any well-planned rectangular plot above 500 sqm can be evaluated and structured into a viable small-sided football facility — subject to usage intent, layout efficiency, and commercial considerations.
From a planning and feasibility standpoint, futsal pitches are typically designed at a significantly smaller scale than full-size football grounds — often in the range of one-third of a standard field footprint.
This reduced footprint directly influences land efficiency, capital cost, and revenue density — making small-sided formats structurally more viable in urban markets. These factors are usually structured through detailed planning and technical advisory inputs

The following dimensions serve as general reference ranges; however, actual project layouts are always calibrated based on site constraints, intended usage, and commercial objectives, which is typically addressed during early stage feasibility evaluation.
- Goal area is a rectangle measuring 9.15 meters (30 feet) wide by 16.47 meters (54 feet) deep.
- Penalty area is a semicircle with a radius of 6 meters (20 feet) drawn from the midpoint of the goal line.
- Centre circle has a radius of 3 meters (10 feet).
- Touchlines (long boundaries) must be longer than the goal lines (short boundaries).
