For non-international futsal matches, the Laws provide:
- Length: 25–42 metres

A larger pitch provides a playing experience closer to the traditional 11-a-side game, but it also requires significantly more land and increases the cost of construction, lighting, drainage, maintenance and supporting infrastructure.
Smaller formats provide greater flexibility and can allow developers to create high-utilisation facilities in locations where a full-size football pitch is impractical.
